Synopsis
Abuse of power by a coach over young athletes in the world of elite sport is a universal phenomenon. This documentary tells the story of Kelly Sildaru, a child prodigy in freestyle skiing, who broke the code of silence exposing the toxic hold her coach and father had over her. Worldwide famous since 2016 when, at the age of 13, she won her first gold at Winter X Games, she and her caoch-father were known as a tightknit team. Coming from Estonia, they broke records until an injury shattered her dream. Kelly missed her first Winter Olympics. She returned to make the best season of her life (three medals at the 2019 Winter X Games). But in 2021, she decided to reveal the dark reality of abuse to empower other athletes to save themselves.
